Enhanced Protection for Tall Plants.

Latest Update 12th April 2020.

The taller pest exclusion frame above was designed to support climbing peas and beans and make protection from pests easier.  It's a response to my decision to abandon my 4 year crop rotation plan, which restricts bed use to a limited range of plants.  Now I plant seedlings wherever there is space and whenever they are ready.

Now that I no longer need to move my peas and beans to a new bed every year, the relocatable climbing frames I have been using are redundant.  I plan to convert a second bed to a similar design to grow tomatoes later in the year.

As well as providing protection from bird and insect pests, the frame makes fitting of heavy duty shade cloth during extreme hot and windy weather much easier.

The bars on the outside of the netting make access easier for planting, harvesting and soil prep.  The nets can be unhooked quickly and folded over the bars upwards from the bottom of the frame to hang from hooking points further up and out of the way.
